April Lockhart

April Lockhart was born on July 4 1995 In seventh grade she began playing guitar and taking piano lessons which ignited her interest in music writing. In April, when she was 12 years old, she composed her first single called Different. At the age of 14 April spent a lot of her time writing and practicing songs. Then she began to take excursions to write with her father, who lived in NY in New York and LA. April started to include other subjects in her book Take My Hand to help those of her peers who struggled with disabilities, peer pressure or even suicide. Lockhart has her own fan base and is a lifestyle blogger with the well-known Ilia clean beauty brand. She was born without her left hand. It's part of her story, but this isn't the whole truth. As a result Lockhart's Instagram account does not shy away from her disabilities, yet it doesn't center around it as well. The point? The message? We each contain multitudes, that our physical and identity selves are not all that appear. Lockhart stated in a video interview that she didn't want to be defined by her handicap. She doesn't wish to be a disability advocate who only talks about that. There are a variety of aspects of Lockhart. This doesn't interfere with my life. It's all normal, and I've learned how to adapt. Because it's part of who I am and something worth talking about. Self-acceptance can be a marathon for a lifetime but Lockhart truly inspires me in this regard. She admits that she's been through phases of her body, at times, not being confident in wearing particular types of clothes which showed off her arms. Today, she wears anything she wants. And she posts her photos on social networks. It's a journey is the most important thing. I'm not certain that you ever arrive she says of self-love. However, that is typical for people who has insecurities. I think that having people with you who know you and see the depths of your soul is vital because they'll be the people who will remind you what you worrying about?
